Nikki Hanson
Landscaping and wildland management ecologist
Nikki brings a breadth of experience as well as enthusiasm to her work. She has 17 years of experience growing native and Mediterranean plants in the nursery industry. A UC Santa Cruz graduate and La Honda third generation lady, she is most at home in her Santa Cruz Mountains, but also enjoys helping people in urban areas create garden oasis for native flora and fauna. She has spent time on the board of the South Skyline Fire Safe Council, her most nearby fire-safe council and is part of Protecting Our Watersheds San Mateo, a local watershed protection group. Nikki uses her 12+ years of teaching and education/research in plant sciences and ecology to inform her clients to the utmost of her ability.
Dani Hanson
Landscaping technician (currently focusing on her full time job as a mama of two small kiddos)
Dani loves lending her skills and creative energy to projects both large and small. As she grew up helping her older sister with many a garden project and spent years working side by side at Grassroots Ecology’s native plant nursery, she is well versed in the details of growing plants for our local habitats. Dani, an artist in training and practice, loves applying her aesthetic eye for detail to her new role as machine operator and landscape and land management assistant.
Bill Hanson
Equipment operator and mechanic, grading and construction expert
Bill Hanson brings his jack-of-all-trades life style and 40+ years of experience in construction and supervision of large scale projects to his work in his mountain community. He loves working with 2 of his daughters in their family business which primarily focuses on helping people who live in our mountain community. Landscaping in a rural environment always takes a uniquely wide set of skills and know-how to tackle a myriad of land management, construction and landscaping projects. Bill brings his creative thinking and sense of humour to any project!
